Negative emissions are crucial for achieving the climate goal of Copenhagen concerning territorial climate positivity. Therefore, efforts are being initiated to explore possibilities for negative emissions, including both CCS and other CDR approaches.

Strategic Priorities: Funding and Infrastructure

The focus of the workshop will be on funding opportunities, development of storage capacity, and establishment of transport infrastructure for CCS, as well as an exploratory approach to identifying new CO2 removal opportunities within the Copenhagen context.

Challenges, Partnerships and Alternative Solutions

The workshop will include a discussion on the challenges associated with achieving the climate positivity target. There will be reflections on the work with CCS in collaboration with utility companies and an exploration of alternative CO2 removal options e.g. biochar. Additionally, there will be a debate on the potential of different approaches to achieving the climate positivity goal.

The workshop is held in collaboration with the City CDR Initiative.
